A resident of the Ayrshire town of Largs for over 50 years, Kate McGregor is a self-taught artist who has created an enormously diverse body of work since devoting herself to the easel in 2003. 

 

Originally from Helensburgh, Kate has exhibited her paintings all over Scotland and, for five consecutive years, was invited to Lady and Lord Campbell's prestigious private exhibition of Scottish artists at Kilbride Castle in Doune.

Although Kate has no preferred subject matter, she does particularly enjoy working with acrylics. Rarely one to plan in advance, she initially makes arbitrary marks on the canvas and then continues to paint whatever emerges in her mind's eye.
